[QUOTE="Gojira, post: 12832603, member: 78044"] Huh? To the OP (Juiced...) you can add well over 35% to that stock motor with no compromise. Stock 5.0's are rated at 225 so if you only go up 35% in power that's only adding 78hp. If you follow the above advice you'd be doing all that labor and a waste of 3k just to stay at a 78hp increase. That's insanity. What kills those stock blocks is RPM not HP. you can make 500hp with a stock block all day long if you keep the revs down at 6000. The rings will wear out as normal before you hurt the motor from too much power as long as you keep the revs down and have good A/F. A good H/C/I alone can add 120hp. People have been doing that for years to the 5.0 and it hasn't compromised longevity. If you only want 78 more Hp buy a $500 nitrous kit and be done with it. But we know you don't want to go the route. What's the point of putting on a turbo if you're only going to run enough boost to increase the power by 35% As a note wydopnthrtl, if he adds 6-7- pounds of intercooled boost that would be around a 55% increase of power not 35%. That's over your recommendation. Or did you mean non-intercooled? 7lbs non-intercooled or 4-5lbs intercooled would be 35%. But then again why do a turbo for only 4lbs. Lol. (no flame intended by the way) If you really want to go turbo for 2k then go for it. Yes you're going to have to do a lot of work yourself and fab stuff up but that's what this hobby is about.
