Single belt blower setup

Has anyone converted their car to Eaton/Whipple/KB and only used the one belt?

I know the 99 Cobra KB kit is a single belt setup with the Eaton lower. Just wondering if anyone has done it with a shortened Eaton/Magnuson snout; or maybe a custom length KB/Whipple and custom brackets?

No point in even trying that.

The back belt rib is 6 rib so you would have to switch everything to 8 rib like the front belt drive and if you dont then blower belt slip will be a major problem. You will also have to move the alt. back as well and that calls in clearance issues..

Too many issues to do for no gain.

The 99/01 Cobra, and GT KB setups all use the 6 rib belt and they do fine right? They flip the alt backwards.

They are also spinning 1.7 or 2.1L blowers no higher then abot 14 psi on that 6 rib belt. 03 Cobras have the alt. on the driver side of the timing cover in front of the exhaust manifold.

The 99-01, 03-04 Mach 1s that do the PD swap typically use an Eaton swap which turns it into the same thing as on an 03-04 Cobra since the parts all bolt up.

The GT stuff is completely different as well and like the low boost stuff or the 99/01 and 03-04 Mach 1 setups it is typically at lower boost levels 7-10 psi on stock motors and at those speeds a 6 rib is fine. Even a 2.1L KB is only rated for about 14psi on a stock motor 01 Cobra.

As I said before, not worth doing because with the normal eaton setup you can spin a blower up and over 18,000rpm without any issues. A 6 rib setup would start to loose it well before that.
