I'm looking at possibly getting into a gt500. It doesn't have side scoffs or louvers. Thoughts on getting these installed as dealer accessories? Is that even possible after the fact? Haven't asked the dealer about it yet .. Thought I'd see what the local opinion is

They don't come from the factory like that anyway. They are always a dealer installed accessory. If you going to have louvers done, I only recommend the Cobra Jet style. All others look like tacky add-ons.

There are dealer installed scoops that are ordered with your car and come in the trunk like the cover. You can also order them through the parts dept after the fact.

There are also numerous aftermarket sets, of which some come pre-painted.

Take your time and research them to make sure you get what you want.

The only 2 that I personally like are the CJs and the black out plates from Shelby. I think the rest of them look tacky and an after thought. But to each their own. What I like about the CJs is that they still allow you to see out of them.

My husband wanted side scoops so I ordered the Ford scoops from my dealer, who arranged to have them painted and installed. I think the Ford scoops look like they aren't long enough on my convertible, but the lines of the convertible are different from those of coupes. From a purely aesthetic view I prefer the coupe's lines, but I love driving around with the top down far too much to consider getting the cleaner looking coupe. I saw some scoops in an American Muscle catalog that looked like they went back further than Ford's scoops, I'd look at those before deciding. Here are a few photos of my car.
