Me and my buddy have supercrew f-150's. I have a 2006 lariat 4x4 and he has a 2008 FX4. We both have the 5'' side steps and we both want the side exhaust that comes in front of the tire, but we dont want to get rid of the side steps. Is there any exhaust out there that will work for us? He likes the look of the gibson with square tips, I like the round ones. If anyone has any pics of a supercrew with sidesteps and side exhaust. Thanks

Flowmaster has a kit for the Lightning but nothing newer. Custom is likely your best bet unless you can get the L kit to work.

Be careful with the SC setup and dumping the exhaust before the rear tire.

What ends up happening is you have to move the muffler up about 2.5 ft. forward and you wind up getting a totally obnoxious drone in the cabin at 1800-2000 RPM (that's about 62-70 MPH). The muffler sits right up under the cab.

I went the true dual custom 3" route with a crossover Magnaflow Stainless muffler setup. Not only did I gain excellent hp (~24 rwhp), it sounds great without the drone.

Here you go made it myself for my 07 Supercrew.Dont pay attention to the welds. I ended up taking it off and rewelding everything on the bench to make it much better.Cost less than $75 to make it.

Sweet! what system and any sound clips or videos.
I used a Summit chambered race muffler 3" inlet, duel 2.5" outlets, 3" chrome tips from e-bay, and I used a muffler shop to bend 2 pipes for the turn outs. I mad a template out of some scrap pvc I had laying around so I could see where and how I wanted the turnouts to run. I then had the shop bend the pipes to the template. Here are a couple of sound clips.

thanks !! how much did a;; that cost part and welding?
The welding was free, I did it myself, twice :-D. Cost me less than $70 in parts. The tips were from ebay,$12.00, they were suppose to be blimished but I could find anything wrong with them.

I have a Bassani Stainless on my 2008 FX2 regular cab. The exhaust was a low milage cat back exhaust off of a 2001 Lightning. I had a muffler shop install it for me. He cut the Y-Pipe and made mine true dual exhaust from the front to back.Don't know what to tell you about the steps.
Good luck,
Jim
