Short block/Long block

Alright call me a noob or just a dumb@ss but what is the difference between a short block and a long block. Have plans in the works to get my motor fully built. Just want to know what is best for boost and if there is any difference assembly wise puttung back together with 03 cobra factory parts. All help is very appreciated. :shrug:

In a nutshell: S/B= Block, crank, rods & pistons.
L/B= Same as S/B w/ heads
