Shocks or coilovers?

Alright everyone I just got new wheels and tires and well the shocks are gone so I hit bumps and rub on the tires so I'm looking at either getting new shocks or just going ahead to rear coilovers but can't decide. If I can get away with just shocks that would be great because the height looks just about perfect with the eibach springs.
Let me know what you think!

Thanks,
Zach

I have the MM K member and Bilstein coilover kit, absolutely love it! you can adjust your ride height to avoid tire rub. Absolutely worth the extra costs over just shocks

That's what I was thinking in case I can't fix it with just some adjustable shocks then I'm kinda screwed unless I go coilover. I just hate to raise it any the way it sits is just right but I'd rather raise it a little than mess up tires and paint

How much of a gap do you have between your tires and fender? If you're happy w/the ride height, just put on a new pair of shocks and be done with it, problem solved.

Here is with my friends hand in between the tire and fender

You think I can eliminate my tire rub just with shocks?
Cause I'd honestly much rather do that and save the money if I can

The shocks will slow down the tire movement. It might be enough to keep you from rubbing. But I think it's going to take a stiff shock with that little clearance and how far your tires stick out.

i was going to suggest rolling the fenders but not sure how much that would really help

Lol yeah I already had them roll it as far as they could while in paint and body it sucks

Yeah I was thinking im gonna have to have some stiff shocks to do it so idk how possible it will be

Wow, didn't realize your wheel/tire combo stuck out that far past the fender. You'll need a stiff shock to avoid contact.

Do you have any pics from the rear of the car? Curious how it looks.

Was that the only offset offered for those rims?

No I could've ordered them with any offset but I think it's the only one that would work with irs and still clear the inner fender well. especially with the tires I got on them how wide they are

Do you think they'll be okay stiffness wise to keep my tires from rubbing?

They might be. I think they're a little stiffer than a stock shock. Before I rolled my fenders on my 01 it would only rub on extreme dips or if I had a car full of people. And I had about the same clearance between the fender and tire you do.

Bilstein makes a great shock, you can always try playing around with adding a spring isolator if you need a fraction more clearance.

I have HD's on my Cobra and they're great.

Maximum Motorsports also sells a sport and race series damper, might be worth looking into if you want something a bit stiffer.
