Shock/strut bushings

MM says you need to install new lower poly bushings with Bilsteins - "Does not come with lower bushings. You must also buy MMSM-105".

1. Does the install destroy the old bushings to the point that you need new ones, or do they just want you to buy new ones?

2. Are the stock ones crappy enough that it would be a good upgrade anyway?

3. Who else makes/sells a poly bushing set?

IIRC, its the upper bushings on the shock that MM sells replacements for. The stock rubber peices are just that stock pliable compliant rubber. Its been 3 years since I installed mine, so to be sure a quick phone call to MM would clear up any questions.
