SHO vs Modded 5.0 Gt

Well first off i am on www.shotimes.com all the time and have learned many things from them and i drive my car nice i do not race every little thing that revs cause i know better. well here is the story.

Well it goes like this I went to work early this morning and it was about 9:45 or so and i see this 2k1 Eclipes trying to be somthing, so i let it be cause it will be a waste of my time. well i turn the courner going to work and bammmmm in my rear is that DAM BLACK MUSTANG that always bully-ed me around town and on the strip and made a fool out of me on the strip one night in my escort.

Race: he comes up and i give gas in frist gear and pull on him so i think damn i can get him. Now listen close this mustang is built good, not just exhuast and intake and shit like that, i mean more, the kid has got money. well he flys pass and i catch him. We line up at the light were the movies are at, looking on to a two mile stretch of hard core road we line up, i rev my Yamaha V6 and he revs sounding mean as a motha, i turn the radio off and look at him as they are laughing and i put it in frist he starts to rev and we both look at the light he starts to roll so do i and bammmm green 3000 RPM launch and i am off ttires spinning and mad torque steer and almost lost it and his were to, i get a car and a half lead frist gear 7200 shift 2nd gear 6300 bam third gear 100MPH bam 4th gear 110 and he start to pass me and you now but it was over. i think he used the go go juice about then cause he was a car behind the whole time. well he could not catch me till 110 and i was running hard core and so was he. I beat a modded 5.0 mustang, and when i told him it was stock he about died.

um, you're stock SHO beat a well-modded 5.0? uh-huh.

well-modded means he could be in the upper 12's or low to mid 13's. i don't think a stock SHO could hang. if i'm wrong, i apologise.

Now i am not saying that it was modded like you might be thinking but the whole point is that he thought that i was just some dumb ass with and SLO, am i am not. And some times it does come down to the driver and wheel spinn off the line if you see where i am comming from am i right?

You got a car and a half off the line? I find that hard to believe, but could happen. Why did you shift at 7200? should have shifted 65-6800, but ok. Also, why did you shift to 4th so soon?
And yes we can hang and beat 5.0s. Also from a roll can hang with stock LT1s.

One thing 99% of all SHO's don't have on a SVT is off the line power. MY SVT is faster than my SHO and my friends SHO both kinda weak mods off the line. third gear comes around though and the SHO's are out big time...

I do find it hard to believe you put that much on him off the line also. Unless he's roasting the tires for a couple days.

Hey SHOTYME not to be a ass or anything but go to liberty and Find a Red CSVT with hollowed SVT decals on the rear door. Race him. Ill put 100 dollars on he destroies you in any race you want. His name on here is PHATSVT if your wondering. Look him up he'll run you. With the CSVT or his 86 Mustang GT.

I would believe this story if it was a race from 45mph on, first off a SHO is about the worst car in the whole damn world to launch, not so much torque steer, but major traction issues. The lengths you lost in the launch you could never make up in the whole race.

I had a race a couple weeks ago versus a so called 13 second stang but I only raced from 45-50 and all the way up to 138mph for me, I barely barely won just by a nose, I power shifted into 2nd, shifted into 3rd at 6800 RPM, ran her up to around 118mph till I bounced off the rev limiter (My bad) and shifted into 4th and finished the race in 4th at around 140 and a tadge over 7000 rpm. NOw I think that story is a little more believable. I doubt it was a highly modded 5.0 most 5.0's stock are 14-15 second cars sooooooo it would be a fairly goo race for you especially at a higher rate of speed where the mustang would drop off a little.

Ive always wondered about putting 1st and second gear ratios from a SVT into a SHO tranny. WIth the Quaife i think it would be pretty good all around.

I think im gonna get another SHO and that be my project car. SVT to pricy to fix. damn Tranny's 3600 each total X2 warranty covered them though.

Warranty ends in 200 miles:gt:

Ok first of to say this RTStabler51m, 1st the story is not fake it is true as hell, come to sedalia missouri and come find the 5.0 if you do not believe it is always in town, 2nd yeah i shifted early out of third yeah i got some what shited on for that on shotimes already so i know what i did wrong, 3rd and yes he was spinning like mad ok and you know how SHO are either they bogg down or they spinn and i was not even about to bogg down. Next

"The lengths you lost in the launch you could never make up in the whole race." first of all after a crazy spinn it grabbed and i was off he was still spining he came up close but was still behind, seems like when that 2nd cam opened up he would fall back each time, he did not loose by much yall, only by a car from my site. well the story is true i do not know what to tell ya that is how it went sorry but that is the first big race in the SHO i have had it for less then six months, and have put over 1000 in it the motor is strong as an ox people. Oh yeah i killed this guy in a 98 contour SVT yeah all these peolle told me he would kick my ass and well come to find out he had the roll start and i drop it as he came up on me all fast then when i hit 2nd just stared pulling away and if that same guy and if he is on here and read this and get mad you know were i am and i see you have intake and mods now. Oh yeah what that csvt got in let me know so i can get the same amount of mods then we will see what is up. But i wll still run him. mods coming

Great kill, but he can't be seriously modded, and you beat the driver. (which in some ways is better than beating a slower car!) Nt correcting the kill, I have zero doubt you trounced him, which is cool. Just the modded Mustang bit. Unless he has street tires and 4.10's with a huge ass throttle body and stock heads/cam/intake. Those bozos are out there. FWIW: My completly stone stock 89 Gt went 14.41 on bald ass Sieberling falcon radials. I have NEVER seen a stock sho run faster than mid 15's at the same track I ran those times. (Very crappy prep...)
I'd just be curious to find out exactly what mods he has.

I know of one other SVT contour in the sedelia and its a black E0...

What color was the CSVT?????

naw it was not you it was sliver, and has 17's and intake and mirror tint, and oh yeah if you ever see him i want to run again cause my engine was in such bad shape then i gotthe work done onit but i still got him.

now that I am wake and can reply with some insight.

I'm glad that you have great enthuasisam (sp?) for the SHO. It is a great car and can be even greater. That sad thing is that most people your age cannot afford them. yes you can buy them cheap, but once you get into maintenance which these require a lot of they become quite expensive. I'm glad you have a mod list chosen, but IMO, I would do your preventative maintenance first. and since you've seem to be reading shotimes i'm going to assume you understand what the requires and the price tag that goes along with it. I've also seen alot of people who talk the talk but do not walk the walk. meaning they say they are going to do this or that, but soon find out exactly how much it will cost, and the prices that go along with it.

Also, its not that we don't believe you, at least myself, but i've been around the SHOs/CSVTs long enough to know that the younger folk who buy these cars think they are the fastests things in the world. I've been humbled enough by other cars to know that they are not. Back in their hey day they were very fast and still are. The FWD community is just now really coming up to speed where the SHO started way back in 1989.

I hope that you actually do hang around the site and contribute to it. And if you have any questions just ask.

yeah without those parts in the way, it makes ALOT more hp. I'm currently runing high 3s with that combo. stay tuned for more.

Hey Stabler, are those 2.5 SVT duratec's 60 degree V6's? It definitely doesn't look like a 90 degree V6.
