shifter seems loud?

on my way home from class today i notice my steeda tri ax seems to be rubbing up against the console more than i have ever noticed... and shifting in 1st and 2nd im hearing alot of noise feels like a bolt is protruding this very possible? or cud my synchros be going bad and 2nd gear etc? how hard is it to remove the console to get at it? sometimes it feels as if when i shift into 2nd i feel like the shifter pops in twice etc

To pull the bezel up I grab it at the bottom on the inside of the shift boot. Just pull up and it'll pop out. Unscrew the shift knob and it'll come up. Then you can see if anything is loose.

so i went to back out the cobra.... cuz i wanted to work on my shifter that i suspected to be loose. fair enough ya? well my shifter said no sir....

Whoever installed your shifter, shouldn't be allowed to work on cars anymore.

ford and 2nd it just got loose thats all the car after all is 10 years old

Looks like somebody forgot to put lock-tight on the handle bolts. :lol:

Back when I had my stock shifter I replaced the rubber bushings with some bronze bushings and different bolts. I noticed over time the throws seemed to get longer. One day I went to put it in first and my shifter did the same thing.
