Let me begin by saying that I have the speaker wiring diagrams for the Shaker and I'm an electrician by trade, but this HU has got me stumped. I've been trying to get the Shelby Kicker speakers/8's in, run new wires to the back and use a ZXSUM8 line out converter/summer, along with a ZX350 4-channel Kicker amp.
Using EvilCartman's How-To I tap-spliced off the rear speaker stock harnesses. When I went to test however, I found I was missing my left channel. I've confirmed the amp is feeding the speakers on all channels, traced back to the LOC and found it not getting any left signal. I found that the stock speaker pigtail there that I tapped off of for the signal to be converted was non-existent.
I got good continuity for the wires from the LR speaker pigtail to the front.
I then plugged my iPod into the auxiliary RCAs directly into the Kicker amp via a 3.5mm-to-RCA cable (love the fact it has a provision for that) and got sound on all speakers.
What's the next step? I'm guessing somehow the headunit's toast. Did I miss anything obvious? Thanks!
