Im trying to download the sct programmer device file on my macbook pro. After its done downloading is says, Safari can't open file "SCTDeviceUpdater-3.exe" because no available application can open it. Anyone with a macbook pro retina thats used it to get custom tunes? Is a pc the only way to get it to work?
Thanks

I use a mac book Pro - I loaded Parallel so I can run windows. You can load windows without Parallel but I like to be able to switch back and forth.

I don't believe you can run SCT software directly on Mac OS.

Yeah you cant do anything with sct with a mac os. It really sucks. When I needed to download/save tunes onto my handheld I just bought a cheap netbook with windows xp on ebay for like 90 bucks. It was pretty slow, but did it's job. Then a few weeks ago I switched to doing the pro racer package so got a better computer off dellauction.com for 300. It does the job.

Bootcamp or Parallels are your options. I run Win7 with Bootcamp and SCT's software works fine.
