I have a 2000 saleen supercharged car and im throwing a 2004 motor in with a kenne bell 2.1 2v kit because i found a great deal with a low mileage motor and blower set up so i just swapped.

First question- Do i have to rewire maf since its off a supercharged car prior to? The KB kit comes with 90mm and the saleens were a 80mm but the splicing of the IAC to the intake plenum (think thats right?) by the supercharger is already there from prior saleen harness. So my question is does the upgraded 90mm need the 6 pin maf connector(which is found in 01+ wire harnesses)? or is the 4 pin maf connector fine? The 90mm maf only has 4 pins inside it which i gotta think the 1 and 6 pin are the IAC sensors (grey and grey/red) which is already wired to the intake plenum. So i think im fine because its like those two pins are not in use with the connector in the 90mm maf? just need reassurance.

2nd question- How can i reconnect my saleen boost gauges to the kenne bell set up. I think the 99-04 pillar pod is electrical? need some help here not very sure at all.

3rd question- I hear a noise in the pulley/belt region and it sounds like its coming from the idler pulley and belt tensioner. I changed both of those and still the noise is coming from it. The sound is like a screech and goes away when i rev my rpms. Also when i put pressure to the belt tensioner when the belt is running it goes away. Could it simply be the belt? I just dont want to guess and keep buying new stuff. Very weird sound never heard it before, the blower has only a 1,000 mile i cant imagine its the KB gears.

Kenne bell wasnt much help they usually just brush you off when you have a question so please any help would be great especially the belt sound. Its driving me crazy.

Thanks

If your 2.1 kit mounts the Alt backwards like mine check your Alt pulley nut, remember it's turning backwards now.
Ask me how I know, thought it was the bearings in the blower and sent it out for a $500 rebuilt and the same noise. Turned out the Alt nut backed off and the pulley was howling on the shaft, needless to say I was pissed.

Mine does run backwards like yours but I put a brand new alternator in there this week could that still be the case if it's brand new?

Yes, check the nut on the alternator, also KB setups are very belt sensitive, I went through quite a few belts until I found one that would stay quiet, FWIW it was one of the cheaper Autozone belts, ..so I bought 2, one for the trunk) all you have to do is drip water on some of them and they're toast, I guess because the blower puts a lot more stress on them  I am, of course anal retentive about belt noise, it's something I can't deal with.

Stick with the stock setup for the MAF and IAT sensor. If you had a 01-04 car you would be cutting pins 1 and 6 and routing them to the IAT sensor.

For the boost gauge you should be able to hook it up to one of the vacuum lines. You will notice 2 1/4in NPT plugs where the bypass valve vacuum line hooks up. Pull one of the plugs and hook up your gauge.

Like others have said check the nut on the alternator. You can also check the idler pulley that is next to/partially covered by the alternator, sometimes it rubs on the housing. Just identify the spot and file it a little.

Good call on that I just replaced my alternator and had to "trim" it as well, it looks like it will fit but just barely misses.

The one covered by the alternator spins pretty freely and is a little wobbly and has a grainy sound to it. What do u mean by trimming it, the pulley? The motor sat for 9 months, do think i need a new belt probably? due to sitting?

He is talking about trimming the alternator. Take a look at yours and see if the pulley cut a groove in it, if it has then you need to file it a little.

If your pulley wobbles then it needs to go. Don't buy the pulley from KB they will bend you over the table. The pulley is actually a dodge neon timing belt idler do some searching on rockauto and you'll find it.
