S197 Fitments Differ?

Sorry if this is a repetitive post. I've seen tons on fitment and offsets and I'm fairly confident of what I want/will fit. I'm just curious if the changes in the S197 model years affect any of wheel and tire clearance issues.

I'm looking at a set of Vossen CV2's for a really nice price. They're 20x9 +38 for the front. And 20x10.5 +45. I want to run a 265 or 275/35 in the front and a 305/35 in the rear. Here's a pic of an older members setup on a 2014.

I'm wondering if I run this similar or exact setup on my older body style will I have any clearance issues in my rear fenders?

The second gen S197 ('10 - '14) has wider fenders than the first gen. The wheels/tires will stick out on your car.

so im thinking i will need to go with a 295 tire? im just looking at these first gen S197's running CV2's with the same, if not slightly more aggressive offsets and the clearance seems to be okay.

a "C-hair" at most. theyre basically the same car. we do the exact same fitments on all S197s cars.

the offset on those wheels is spot on for fender flush BUT you can only run so wide of a tire since theyre only 10.5" wide. a 305 will look like its poking a little since its only 10.5". if they were 11", you'd be golden. for example, i ran 20x10s that were fender flush with 305s and they rubbed on my fender really bad in dips. switched to 11 and no more issue. same tire, same drop (sportlines). the 11 stretched it enough to clear.

unless youre running sportlines or similar big drop, you'll be fine rubbing wise. then its just a matter of looks. a 295 will certainly fit better but of course it depends on the brand of tire. with a nitto you will be fine. if you go mpss they will look like theyre poking quite a bit. there are plenty of people who run like that and even more than that so it wont be anything ridiculous. just a matter of preference.

if you want to run a DR, then 305 is what you need. not much choice. dont go with MT as they run wider. go with the Nittos. they'll look aggressive but you'll be ok.

you can also send the rears to Erik Vaugn to have them widened to 11" and then you'll be A-ok. but that will cost you some $$$

that looks good to me. im not familiar with Pirellis. never put them on a set of wheels for anyone. not sure if they run or narrow or what. they dont look bad in that pic though.

what suspension are you running? what springs? have adj panhard bar?

I'm running factory shocks/struts with Eibach Pro Kit springs and an adjustable pan hard. Right now I'm running a 305/35 Nitto 555R on my stock 07 GT500 18" wheels and they fit great. So it would be a matter of jumping up to the 20" 10.5" wheel with a +45 offset. I like the 555R so I'd try to get another set.

you'll be fine. it'll have a little more bulge since theyre 10.5s and it will look aggressive but it wont look bad or rub at all.

Does anyone have any input on the +38 in the front? It seems like +32ish is what is the more aggressive offset for the front wheels don't want them to look too pushed in. Although I think the stock 07 GT500 front wheels are somewhere in the 40's right?
