Its funny how everyone is going for turbo's, Big ATI's, KB's and a Novi 2000 like myself, and yet here is a guy in a 98 cobra with an s-trim just smokin.............

We went up to the track today to see how the car would run and had some goodluck and bad luck .

Set a new personal best 1/8 and 1/4 but the stock longblock finally had enough after 350 passes of racing for 5 years ..

1st pass was a 1/8 mile shakedown run
60ft 1.468
330' 4.273
660' 6.591 NEW BEST
mph 105.21
let out at the 1/8 and still ran a 10.97 @ 93.44

2nd pass was a full 1/4 pass
60ft 1.534 not as good as my first pass
330' 4.359
660' 6.684
mph 105.47
1/4 10.405 NEW BEST
mph 131.32 turning 8100 crossing the finish line

3rd pass was the pass of doom
60ft 1.527
330' 4.347
660' 6.671
mph 105.46
1/4 10.448 engine let go at 1200 ft mark
mph 119.53

This motor had to have been built Ford Tuff to run like it has for the past 5 years . I would like to personally meet the 2 guys at SVT that built my engine and buy them a steak dinner

I guess we will be getting into it later in the week to see what all broke, oil went everywhere ...

I've seen this guy post on the corral since 98 through the present and that car is just simply amazing! I modeled my combination on that car and unfortunately my car did not live as long as his but I was close to his power level nonetheless. It goes to show that either some people have the most luck or they just got a good one from the factory.........

I also have been watching this '98' yellow Cobra ( the yellow banana ) Brian Bradford " SNAKBTN " from the Corral since 1998 smoke the track with his "bone stock" 350 pass 281 DOHC cu in long block. He sure did have a freak motor from the factory. For him to obtain 10:40's @ 130+ mph on a stock long block Vortech "S" trim is truly amazing. I have no doubt that he will break into the "9" second ET bracket with either a Vortech JT trim or surely with a turbo. My Cobra buddy VENOM98 "Omar" has also set his goal of the "9" second ET bracket with his new Novi 2000 SC combination or maybe he is going for "8" second ET's? I guess I will have to be happy with my Vortech SQ-V2 '97' black Cobra that is strictly street driven.
