rust normal?

Do you guys have rust on all the metal pieces in the drivers footwell? The fusebox, steering shaft, metal piece on the firewall, pedal arms, just about all the metal has some rust on it. Is this normal? The rest of the car is fine afaik, however when I was down there looking for something I noticed all this rust.

I have minor rust on the rad support brackets and the heat exchanger brackets???

common on both radiator and HE brackets, although they changed the plating on the rad ones in late 03 and they seem to hold up much better

I've noticed rust on the metal brackets under the dash...not really sure if there is more under there

My 04 had some surface rust underneath the hood and the exhaust system looked like someone fished it out of the atlantic. Now that you posted this I will have to check under the dash.

So I guess rust under the dash is pretty normal then. I just hope the pedal arms don't break someday if I'm slamming on the brakes.
