runner controller!??

went to the shop today and they said that my runner controller was stuck closed!?(IMRC) i've read a little info from some of the cobra guys. and they said all 3 of my cats were shot. Has anyone had this problem before, and haven any cheaper ways of fixing this problem.. its not pulling like it should in mid rpms, and its spittin. check engine light is on, it idles fine. anyone have any ideas/imput..thanks!~

The Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) is known to fail on these cars. It is mounted on the front valve cover. If you can replace it yourself to save you money.

As for all 3 cats failing at one time...seems odd. Is the car throwing the CEL?

you replied to "chiefP" earlier, we are concered about the same car, (my car) i believe he'll be able to go futher into detail than i can. your knowledge is gonna hopefully save me a handful of money..thanks!!

Bad pre cats should throw a CEL as will a bad IMRC. themain cat will not throw a code but cause performance issues.
