RTR deck lid panel install

Hey guys, ordered the RTR decklid panel, going to install it next week, i have a question for those who have installed it. After you cut out the hump what did you do with the bare metal now exposed? touch up paint, or silicon or something like that? i know you'll never see it but i dont want it to collect water and rust either. thanks

Paint some rustoleum over it once you're done. You'll never see the paint since the decklid will cover it, but that's what I did with mine and I haven't see any signs of issues.

I primered and painted it with a small brush.

Yes, this. In the box they include a small packet of rust inhibitor. This is all I used on the cut portion of the install.
