i was wondering about a few gears and what rpms i wud be turning between 65-80 mph. i was thinking of either 3.73 or 4.10's but after talkin to some ppl i was thinking as high as 4.56's. i go to school in IL and home is in KY so its about a 650 mile round trip to go home which is about 1 or 2 times a month. so i like to make good time. if anyone who has these gears and knows the rpms they turn between 65-80 mph id appreciate the info. this will be going into my 99 cobra if it makes a difference. Thanks

650 mile round trip once to twice a month? I'm a HUGE fan of 4.56's, but that might be pushing it. Depends on what all you use the car for too. I love my 4.56's but I couldnt do many long trips with them. At 65 I'm at 2600 rpms. Not bad but if your doing like 80 or so the whole way home it might get annoying. The way the 4.56's pull is insane though, check out the videos i made, just search under my created threads, its called 3.27's vs. 4.56's

I have 4.10s in my 5 speed sn-95 and when I am doing 80 I am around 2600 rpm or so and at 90 mph I at at 3k. I have to drive 3 hours to get home to visit the family and freidns and I think the 4.10s are good enough for freeway driving. You can get some good pulling from them but still don't have to yell to your passanger to talk to them. But if I didn't drive on the freeway as much I woudl rather have 4.30s.

remember most t56s have a similar 6th gear ratio to our 5th speed ratio. The viper spec t56 has the .5 6th gear ratio.

Go 4.30's. My buddies Mach does a tad under 3000rpm at 80. He has 18's which would make it lower. If ur running stock rims or any other 17 inch rim it might be at 3k for you

With my T56, 4.56's, and larger diameter rims (18's) im right at 3k at 80. Its not bad at all dude, you get use to it. IF traffic is really flowin ill be cruising at 3300 sometimes. its just 'wierd' to see ur tach that high, but there are cars that run 3500rpm's at 80 STOCK. Dont fear it man!!

i wud go 4.56's if i didnt have such a long trip home, the car will probly get em when i get settled after school but ya about that mpg all ive been hearing from my roommates r ur gas is gonna be shit. i figured since id still be runin close to the same rpms as i wud with stock gears just at a lower mph id be fine.
