Rough 1st to 2nd.

Just recently my car has been intermittently giving me a little trouble with the 1st to 2nd shift. The shift wont go smoothly, theres a bit of tension and its almost kinda spongy. Its hard for me to describe, but it only does it with 1st to 2nd. And it has never done it before. I almost feel like it might have to do with the shifter itself. But im not sure. Anyone have any ideas?

Any grinding? Do you have an aftermarket shifter?

Could be a bent shift fork. If its that it will eventually snap when shifting it hard. But at the same time it could be your shifter. Change the shifter and see and if it still does it you have bigger problems

Had a cheapo Shortthrow on it. Changed it out for the stock one, now it only does it sometimes. Could it be that the ball/socket mechanism of the shifter/transmission needs to be greased up or something like that?
