All,

This question was posted in the tech forum but I wanted to post this here also to get some advice from fellow 03 owners too.

"I need some advice on a question that came up. I am about to change all 4 pads on my snake. This is not a difficult process. But, while I was at the dealer picking up some things, I got to talking with someone in the service department and he said I should resurface/machine the rotors before I put new pads on.

I know that they are always trying to get extra money...but should I take this into consideration? Is is neccessary to do this before I put on these new pads. I did not think so."

Any Ideas?

A resurface isn't really required unless the rotors are glazed or groved. Be sure to also look for discoloration from hot spotting and cracks.
