ROLL CAGES

What kind of roll cage is recommended for the 00R?

I would probably want to meet SCCA regulations even though I will probably never actually do an SCCA race.

Does anyone make one that can be bolted on? Any input Kevin?

There are probably some out there that can be bolted on, but after some research and from talking to Kevin; this is not a desirable avenue to approach for several reasons...

1) it will not look nearly as good as a custom-fabricated cage....

2) it will not be nearly as strong as a welded unit...

of course, it will definitely be more expensive.. I've priced one at Kenny Bumbera in Houston (he did Kevin's car) and it will be between $3K-4K. I expect to bring mine in to Kenny in the next month or so for mine.

Thanks, I'm gonna go with a custom made cage. Should I do 6 point or 8 point?

mike, there's a guy in vegas i know that would do you an EXCELLENT job for a custom fit. i think this would be closer to you. he will also do other car mods you might have in mind. this is a guy that i have trusted my life with in a race car.

andy, ya might want to have some research done on the cage by kenny. mine may not meet the new scca requirements. also, weigh your car first to know what size tubing you need.
