This is a VERY interesting take on the future of "hybrid" powertrains. It's essentially a electric compound boost setup. And the cost is much, much cheaper than going with a true "plug-in" hybrid for way too much money.

Without seeing the video, it sounds a lot like the tech in the new F1 engines, as well as the P1. Hopefully it catches on in other manufacturers.
