After reading some good reviews of the collinite 845 wax I bought a bottle. The stuff is a good price too at $16 a bottle. This stuff is tough. I used it on the top of my fender to see the shine it had. I could tell a difference in a 50/50 tape line from megs gold glass to the collinite. In this application I used it over the megs. I then striped the car with a dish soap mixture in a foam gun and mit. The fender I did the collinite on was much harder to get the beading of the water to stop. This stuff it tough! Once dry, I applied the collinite by hand due to my pc taking a crap. (drives messed up) I literally used about 16 drops to do the whole car. This stuff goes on super thin, so thin infact it is hard to tell where you've been on silver. I let it haze for 40 minutes then just wiped off with ease. I'm very happy with the results. I did the paint , lights and glass. Silver is hard color to get it to pop and be super reflective, but I think you'll see in the pictures the collinite did the job!

Would've been nicer with the weather cooperated with you for the pictures. Car looks good though! 845 is not known for the depth and gloss that other LSP's will provide, but for the price the finish and the durability of this wax is second to none. It also isn't the easiest of product to work with either.

What other waxes do you see as superior to 845?

Funny you posted that.. I just got finished doing my hood and roof or my Ingot Silver '11 with that stuff. I am a fan of Adam's Products and for my "thorough" detailing, I use their machine sealant followed by glaze and Their Americana Paste Wax (their Pinnacle Sovereign Equivalent). The 2 latter mentioned are superior LSP, but I use the 845 when Im in a hurry or I want to "quick-clay" after washing because of excess dirt in the air.

As Torch Mentioned..It is good for what it is used for. For my money, one of the better "liquid-type" waxes.

Nice work.

Did you mention claying the car first? Also you mention comparing sides. Remember it's not a polish so it's not going to remove and swirls or hazing. On silver cars (like mine) it's going to be very hard to tell differences between this and more expensive products. On the deeper colors, well that's a different story.

Love me some 845. I use it on all my cars. Very durable and long lasting protection, I applied it back in February and its still beading like a mother****er today.

looks great. Me..i prefer using Wet glaze 2.0 followed by a coat of Coll 845 then i top it off with a fuzion wax (pricey) on my nicer cars. If you are not willing to cough up 2 hundies for fuzion wax..you can use a Meguairs 26 yellow wax which is a good Wax specially for the price or i like using CG Petes 53 on darker cars or even the pinnacle souverin which is a forgiving $50 price tag.

now i have people always asking me how is my DD cadillac truck always shiny and wet looking. I top it off with the wet glaze 2.0 again after applying wax.

IMO though the fuzion is all you need after the 845

The car was in good shape clay bar wise. It was clayed, compounded, and polished this winter. Just bought the coll 845 to check it out. I just striped and rewaxed. And yes it was hard to tell a difference in the two waxes. You had to eyeball it to even tell, but there was a slight difference. Paints as good as its gonna get without wetsanding the "rids" out of it.
