Just got my Cobra.

Has anyone replaced their tail lights with the red/amber ones from KarKraft?

Everything's connected and working fine except the amber lights come on when you step on the brake. The instructions say to cut the green wire coming out from a grey connector next to the steering column. There's actually two solid green wires. Cut one had the problem above. Cut both, still had the problem.

Anybody came across this?

Expert advice would be appreciated.

I was really wondering how they were going to solve that problem. I have the wiring diagrams for the '99+ Mustangs and I've compared the '99/'01 Cobra rear lighting wiring to the '03 Cobra.

The current Cobra (at least mine, anyway), like the GTs, runs a single power wire for the brake/turn lights for each side. The '99/'01 runs two wires for each side, one for brakes and one for the turn signal. The brake lights are DG (dark gray) and are picked off of splice S323 before the turn signal multi-function switch.

I didn't see those extra wires but I haven't peeled any tape back yet. Unless you've got both signals to the rear I don't see how the amber lights would work right.

Thanks Dan.

Got a reply from KarKraft. I'll see if their info helps me further.
