How do you correctly remove the side scoops? I have Cervini scoops I want to put on but don't want to damage the existing scoops.

thanks!!

It's a real PITA. I tried this on one side that was loose and took out the back seat, seat beltguide, rear quarter window trim, and the side panel trim, then the seatbelt retractor and a plastic shield. The scoop is held by 6 or 8 plastic clips, be careful or you will break the part on the scoop that halds the clips. :fm: If there is an easier way, I would like to know also.

What the heck are you guys talking about? You don't need to remove the back seat to remove side scoops. You just carefully pull them up near each of the 6 clips and it snaps off.

Good cause I was going to say then I must do it the wrong way. Wow taking out the back seat must be hard, who thought of that way?

When you pull the scoops off, you might damage some of the plastic clips. Be careful.

Even if you do mess up the clips, they shouldn't be that expensive from Ford.

Has anyone made the scoopes functional?

I know Ford uses these spots for fixturing, but you would have thought on the Cobra they might actually do something.

Maybe a project for this summer.

That looks real nice.

Where did you buy them?
And what's needed to fit/finish them?

I checked a Bullitt forum and read that the side scoops were around $80 from Ford and about $100 to paint them. I assume the $80 is for both but I'm not positive [didn't want to register to ask].

$51.78 EACH ($103.56 total) from www.fordparts.com

I paid about $40 total to get mine painted.

Pretty cool mod but I don't think I would put it at the top of my list of mods.

Go look at a 94 or 95 and they were functional (to some extent). Trouble was that they got filthy because the air (and trash in the air) got sucked through the opening. They really didn't do much except to direct air over (under?) the tire treads. I guess they could have been directed around to the rear brakes, they they don't get as hot as the fronts anyway. Kinda useless IMO.

That's better info than I found on the Bullitt forum. I wouldn't mind eliminating the little ridges on the Terminator scoops. I get tired of using "Back to Black" on a brush to to get in the ridges. The Bullitt scoops have a "clean" look

I assume the Bullitt scoops install in the same holes our scoops use?
