I'm installing a remote oil filer and cooler.
due to space and existing plumbing restrictions I will be mounting the remote oil filter/thermostat where battery used to be. it will be the highest point in the system.
do I need to install a check valve on the feed line from the oil pump?
(the discharge port on the block adapter)
to prevent drain back when the engine is off
is the anti drain back valve in standard oil filters adequate?
keeping in mind that filter is now 2+ feet higher than it used to and is connected to a large 10 AN line
thanks

Unfortunately, the response I received may not help you. I am plumbing a canton canister filter with replaceable element. Canton told me to run it and let it sit for 24-48 hours and open up the canister to see if oil has drained back.

yeah I had read something like that in an ls thread when searched on google.
But I am worried the line itself will drain to the filter

I spoke with improved performance, and while they it may not be absolutely needed, it was probably a good idea to prevent extended dry cranking

Yes, install a check valve. It is cheap insurance to prevent dry starts.
