? regarding tire size for 18X8.5 BBS RK rim

Matt,
Been in a bind trying to figure out what size I should go with for my freshly chromed BBS RK 18X8.5 inch front rims. I really want the edge of the rim protected!

Been thinking that the 40 series will protect the rim a little better over the 35.

Here are the 2 different types of tires I'm looking at which are sold by yall on ebay. 1st one is a 40
2nd on is 35 series

What is the offset of your BBS wheels?

What part of your wheels are you most concerned about protecting? Protecting them from impacts (e.g hitting a pot hole or railroad crossing) or protecting them from curb rash, rock chips, etc on the lip of the wheel?

I want to protect the rim of the wheel like the edge of the lip of the wheel.

Thank you for the additional information.

After digging into this fitment neither tire size is recommended for your 8.5" wide wheels. The minimum recommended rim width for both sizes is 9". That being said, the largest size we recommend for your application is 255/40-18. Both the V12 and KDW NT are available in this size. The KDW NT runs larger in size when compared to the V12 so the KDW NT will offer the most lip protection.

Just call them. They have always found any wheel and tire that I've wanted, even if they didn't have it on their website. I can guarantee, it will be the best price as well.

For the record I have a 275/35/18 nt05 on my front BBS RKs and it fits great and has enough sidewall to protect the lip perfectly. I would probably do a 275/40 next time for the added height.

The 255/40R-18 KDW NT has been discontinued and we are completely sold out across all 3 distribution centers. I checked with the manufacturer and they too are sold out.
