Anyone ever change a pinion seal near the rear end housing? It's betweent he driveshaft and the pumpkin. I'll be tackling this task over the weekend. I was wondering if anyone else did this or had any problems.
I had to redo my whole rear end, its a really messy nasty job. You really wanna use air tools because the pinion nut is almost impossible to tighten by hand. Good luck
Okay, all done. Steve (sweetsvt99) helped me do it, in fact we did it in his garage. It wasn't too bad of a job at all. The hardest part was getting the flange that the driveshaft attaches to off. It took a lot of tapping with a hammer to get it off. Also the pinion seal was rusted on pretty good, but after scraping around the edges it popped out pretty easily. Other than that it was pretty easy.
