I bought my 04 and it has the stock Mach 460 stereo, with the exception of an aftermarket Alpine head unit. Install is clean, but I hate the way aftermarket head units look so I've lined up a stock Mach 460 6 disc out of an 04 Mach 1 with plans to remove the Alpine and take it back to stock.

Has anyone done this? Anything I need to look out for? The Alpine was installed using a harness, so the factory wiring is intact. The Mach 460 head unit doesn't have any "anti-theft" codes that will need to be entered or anything like that do they?

Thanks for your help. I've installed a ton of aftermarket stereo stuff, I've just never gone back to stock!

1. Pull out alpine

2. Take out aftermarket wiring harness (plug & play)

3. Re-Install Mach 460.

Glad to hear it. I just remembered the old stock stereos that once removed required a trip to the dealership to get some code entered before they worked.
