Yes I fat fingered the title and misspelled Raxiom.
The other day I was browsing through American Muscle when I noticed a huge 50% off the 1000 dollar Raxiom Nav system with back up camera. So I decided 500 dollars was a good price for the piece and got it. Here is some pics of the install.
Taking the center console off is really easy. Unhook the connector and fold over the shifter console. Careful not rip your boot. No need to fully disassemble.
Take the two screws holding the bottome of the radio bezel down. Do not get mixed up what screws it is. I show you the first one just so you can see it.
Now the bezel will come out with some love. Careful not to break any clips. Start from the top and be patient.
Take out the screws holding the sync unit. and disconnect it. Saving it for later.
This is the A/C module. You'll need to take this out and save it as well. It's B**** to get out. Best tactic is to grip is like shown and pull down with fingers and up with the palm. Slowly adding more force till it comes off. Knuckles beware
Next remove radio and disconnect all cables.
Take the brackets off the side of you sync unit, they wont be used later.
Wrap the sync unit and A/C module in the supplied foam. Sounds Dumb? Trust me it has a purpose lol.
Remove the 15 Torx screws and you take this off.
Remove all rubber and clips and transfer it to new bezel.
Now install old buttons. Note to two torx screws by 4 and 5 hole will not be used.
Remember the wrapping of the sync unit and A/C module? That's because you reinstall in this funky position not to hard. But there's a lot more to this install then the American Muscle video details. However it is not hard. This is the working position I found. Sit it right on top of the A/C module brackets with the plugs facing down.
For lack posting alot here is the final product. If you guys want ideas running wires I can post them later in the comments.
Day four with it in and I love it. Nav is spot on with tons of features and the back up camera should be a standard on our car. Plus burnouts look cool with it on. Thanks for viewing.
