Sue Mead's Raptor Finishes First in Class at Dakar Rally - PickupTrucks.com News

Modifications to the FabSchool/General Tire Raptor (Truck No. 374) to ready it for Dakar included: ARB locker, King Shocks at each corner and wheels from Walker Evans Racing. Inside, there are Cobra seats with Crow harnesses. Under the hood, the 5.4-liter V-8 Raptor is mostly in factory form except for a pair of Odyssey batteries and Royal Purple Racing oil.

For those that still may doubt the abilities of the Raptor this truck is very close to stock and just won a race that is tougher then the Baja 1000.

First time an american woman has finished......and they won the class. This is not only great for Americans and Ford but, General Tire's is loving that they never even got one flat on their Grabber's. Congrats to them!

What's really awesome is in one of the stages they broke one of the shock mounts clean off and had to complete the stage without a shock on one corner.

FWIW, I think there was a second Raptor entered, but not 100% sure. It was listed as a F150, but I'm pretty sure it was a Raptor painted yellow. Didn't see it in the results and think it DNF'd.
