Im changing the oil in the rear end and i was told to use 2 quarts and a bottle of friction modifier. Is this correct?

I think it depends on the oil you are using. Some already come with FM. Hopefully the experience guys will chime in soon.
Royal Purple already has friction mod. already mix with it! thats good stuff to get. cost bout 11-13 bucks a qt.
+1 on the Royal Purple. No FM needed with it. Good Luck
