Quick question about v2 install

I have a 97 cobra that I'm about to put a v2 s trim on and I'm wanting to know if I should try to start it after I do the install or just tow it to my tuner? And the only reason I'm asking this is because I want to make sure all the pulleys are lined up and everything is in working order so I can just take it there and get it turned without running into any problems. Any input on this will be helpful thanks.

If you are using the stock MAF in a draw through configuration you can get away with using the stock injectors and driving it to the tuner LIGHTLY i.e NO BOOST. When you get there you can put your larger injectors in and have the car tuned.

With that said most tuners will email you a base tune to get you to the shop. I also only recommend the above advice if you have no other way to get the car to a tuner. I have done it with a friends GT with a vortech because a certain tuner local to us refused to provide a base tune to get the car to his shop.

I have upgraded fuel pump, injectors and MAF so I guess I will just tow it there and we go from there.

Fuel pump doesn't matter. You can install stock MAF and stock injectors and drive it; just do not go passed 1/4 throttle and stay in vacuum (if you have a gauge). I've done it before to pass smog inspections due to monitors being turned off.

Otherwise AAA membership and tow it there or Enterprise and uhaul trailer if you don't own a truck.

I have a truck and trailer my concern was about getting it there then the belt pops off or shreds cause I couldn't start it to check the alignment but if I can start it with the stock MAF and injectors I'll just leave them in until I check the alignment then swap them out thanks for the info.

It won't run on the stock binary with a different MaF and injectors. You can try, but unlikely you will even get it to stay running. That said, you can have someone try it while you watch the belts.

One of the dangers in this is getting a bunch of unburied fuel in cylinders, washing them down. If you just did this for a minute or two, it could be ok.

Didn't understand this the first time...yes, stock maf and injectors are fine for a start and idle belt check.
