questions with engine install

I have been putting my motor back in my 03 & have hit a few hurdles....

1. Where does the the ground wire & pigtail go that is attached to the harness from the battery to the starter... I cant figure out how the brackets go...

2. My wife swears a piece fell out of my transmission, but im not convinced. It looks like a sleeve of some sort. Its 3.5 inches long and 1.25 diameter..

The negative cable on the battery goes on the lower front motor mount bolt, and the ground strap goes from the subframe to the upper front motor mount bolt (see picture below).

The tube you discussed could be the TOB tube mounted on the front of the transmission. The stock piece often fails and is waiting to fall off when you pull the transmission. It might be telling you to upgrade to a 26 spline input while you have the front cover off to replace the tube.

I believe you are referring to the groung strap in the picture... The wire & pigtail i am speaking of goes down by the lower pulley and runs to the starter.
