Questions about slosh module

Did a search, didn't find much.
When pulling instrument cluster I figured I'd fool with fuel gauge issue.
My gauge is stuck maxed out full. If I pull out slosh module it goes to dead on half, smack dab in the middle. Stick it back in it goes back to full.
I did the "bypass" thing I saw somewhere, but still stays at half now.
I'm starting to think it's the gauge itself. Any ideas?
The sending unit is a bit wonky but still working. I checked with meter and figured it's working good enough. Ohms goes up and down.

Do the ohms have a big jump at any point?

Clicked on "slosh module." Expected something related to lady parts.

It jiggles around, but shouldn't the gauge flicker or move some with the module bypassed? Even with a less than perfect sending unit? It settles down after a sec and rests on proper ohm reading.
