I know this is a Terminator forum, but I know you guys have a lot of knowledge. I'm working on my old Mustang (1970) replacing the exhaust system. I've got the old system off, but I need to remove the doughnut gasket thats stuck on the exhaust manifold. What's the recommended way of getting it to come off? Thanks for any guidance you can give.

Is the manifold still in the car or is it out? You could try a seal puller tool if you have one, or you may be able to get the end of a heelbar under the inner lip and pry it out. There is also the possibility of hitting it from the side with a chisel and hammer to knock it loose. Any of these methods might damage it and if you are replacing the whole system, you should go ahead and spring for new donuts anyway. Just make sure that they are gaskets and not a flared surface that is built onto the manifold itself.
