When timming a 2 valve cam what is the solid lifter for that the shawn hiland book calls for? Going off shawn hiland book it says to time the number 6 cylinder first, and the comp cams instructions say to go to #1 and then #6. Well we timmed it starting with #1 and then #6. We didnt use the solid lifter because when installed the intake valve would hit the piston at the beginning of the intake lobe and would not even close the valve when on the base circle. We even put in the stock cam and the same thing happened so it was not the cam. Anyone have some experience with timming the cams? Yes I know that this is a 4 valve website but I am getting no help from corral. I just dont want to go to start this motor up and it go pow.

Oh it is a stock 03 cobra bottom end with 2valve heads and stage 2 blower cams.
