I'm buying my GF some rims and tires this week for her 2005 Mustang GT and wanted to know if 285/35/18's with 18x9 Cobra R's will fit on all 4 corners?? I want her to be able to rotate the tires so I'm planning on running the same tire all the way around. This place I went during lunch said that the tire I want to run is WAY to large for the front of that car, He also told me that the only tire that is going to fit right is a 245/40/18.....which I know is BS.

Does anyone have pictures of a tire this wide on the front of a GT for reference??? I just want to make sure that it’s not going to rub before I order the wheels

P.s. I have already posted this in the Discount tire section but didn’t get much of a response

Thanks in advance

Yeah that's pretty big for the front of an 05. I've got 255's on an 18x9 and it's pretty damn big on the front.

I know guiys that run 285's on the front, I would suggest 275 especially if you are only 9 in wide. I wouldn't run 285's on 9 inch wide wheel I would get atleast 9.5"

The ideal setup would be 18x9 with 275 45 18's.

Especially if it's not heavily modded or if she isn't racing it alot.

^^^^Nice looking car bro....I'm trying to convince her she wants FR500's on her GT (its black too) but she wants something "shinny" and "big" so I'm limited to the rim choices she and I would both enjoy. WPGford, do you have anymore pics of your car with those rims and tires on??? I would like to show her what her car would look like if I got those for her.

I'm running street 265-35-18 front and 285-35-18 rear and have no problems.
My Hoosier Racing tires are 275-35-18 on all four corners and no problems thier either

BUMP...Im buying new wheels tomorrow, the fronts are 20x8.5 and the rears are 20x10. I didnt really want 20's but I am buying them for $400 so i couldnt pass up the deal. Anyone have any performance problems with running 20" rims? Also, any suggestions on tire sizes?
