Question about "No Insurance?"

I was just wondering what the penalty/fine was if you don't have Insurance on your vehicle? like first time offense, second time, etc. Thanks.

I will say this, in Texas the fine is about $350.00 and the officer has the option of towing your vehicle away. The towing fee is about $150.00 with a daily storage fee of $20.00. If the ticket is not paid the Judge then sends this information to the State Police (DPS). A letter is sent to the driver advising them they now must show proof (form SR-22) and pay a reinstatement fee. If you do not do this, the driver will now be Driving While License Suspended/Invalid. The DWLS/I is a class B misdemeanor. The DWLS/I charge can also be enhanced after a prior conviction.

Another problem with not having insurance is that when you finally decide to get some the insurance company is going to classify you as high risk for not having proof of a previous insurer. So you will pay much more when you finally decide to carry it.
