question about factory 2003 cobra calipers

Im looking at an 03 cobra, stock, low miles. I tried searching this with not much luck, but did they come w red calipers from the factory? Was red an option? Other colors? Is it common for them to peel? Its an OW 03 cobra w peeling red calipers.

Odd/weird question I know.

Calipers were grey/silver. No color options available from Ford.

So if they are red then they have been painted or altered?

That is correct.
The only options available from the factory were Rear spoiler delete and chrome wheels. The early cars also had option for gray or parchment interior, but that was dropped after the first production run.

The 10th Anniversary Cobra's came with red calipers from the factory

I am not 100% sure but the 10th anniversary were only available in Black, Red, and Silver. So OW would not have them. Also they were powder coated so they wouldn't be peeling. Someone probably just took some cheap paint to them
