Every one knows about Gravity on Earth right?

So the question is.

Q / What other Form of a way does gravity Pull u Upwards vs Downward?

Very apropo, considering all the (power) addicts we have here ;-)

Gravity,
A Perfect Circle, Thirteenth Step

lost again
broken and weary
unable to find my way
tail in hand
dizzy and clearly unable to
just let this go

I am surrendering to the gravity and the unknown
catch me heal me lift me back up to the sun
I choose to live

I fell again
like a baby unable to stand on my own
tail in hand
dizzy and clearly unable to just let this go
high and surrendering to the gravity and the unknown
catch me heal me lift me back up to the sun
I choose to live, I choose to live, I choose to live

catch me heal me lift me back up to the sun
help me survive the bottom

calm these hands before they
snare another pill and
drive another nail down another
needy hole
please release me

I am surrendering to the gravity and the unknown
catch me
heal me
lift me back up to the sun
I choose to live, I choose to live

<-- Confused! You mean the gravitational pull of the sun/moon on us?

I thought you were just waxing philosphical....

If it's not the sun or planets, the miniscule gravity you exert on yourself tends to pull everything towards your center of mass. Your feet get lifted (almost none, really) by a fractional amount.

It's not that you weigh less at the equator, that'd have to be due to centripital force, I think.

No Joking bro.

Yes the Earth center of Gravity is our ground we walk on right?

So put the question into play & lets see if u can see :dw:

Well there is electromagnetic forces, and and the weak forces that occur at the sub-atomic level.....you need to be more specific dude..

Acceleration and centrifical forces also have a role in gravitational pull. Nasa uses airplanes to mimic weightlessness for astronauts so i'm sure the opposite could be done. All objects fall at the same rate if we exclude wind resistance. Is the rate of acceleration for the gravitational pull of the earth 9.8m per second squared? Trying to remember physics......?

Think all of u guys are going to blow a fuse

If we jump from a 10 foot tall wall....gravity will pull u down.

Now what form of gravity pull you up to the center of Gravity?

Just keep it simple. Some times the simple thought help ;-)

200lbs fall's of a table & it goes down.
200lbs depending on Mass can also go up.....but its in a certain enviroment.

 Yeah Berj is a winner ;-)

In the Ocean if ur 10feet below the water, u will float back up.

 Berj sorry no predator to give ya

Did i word the 1st post wrong btw?

I think you are confused about relativity

a cobra and lightning traviling at 75% the speed of light at the same direction proceve themselves to be completely normal.

the broke down chebby on the side of the road sees their deminsions squish and everyone inside moving in slow motion

Heres a link
http://gregegan.customer.netspace.net.au/FOUNDATIONS/01/found01.html#s1

dont stress the math, just reading. just a bit on spacetime. The math is mostly algebra so if you want to follow it aint too bad.

Alright George we need to bring up "string theory"............

If any of you guys have heard it is supposed to harmonize the gap between quantum physics and the theory of relativity.......Its still way off to answer anything yet.......

You guys might find this link interesting - pretty much exactly what George was talking about, rendered =P

http://www.anu.edu.au/Physics/Searle/

And Dave - I wasn't thinking of "under water" -- the "center of gravity" of the Earth is pretty much the CORE - even if you're below sea level, there's almost an identical amount of gravitational pull on you from the Earth. Only reason you (as a human) would float up is because you're less dense than the water around you =P

Dave,

under water, bouyancy forces you up. A Ball of lead with the same mass as you would sink like a, well, a ball of lead.

If we removed all of the hot air in you, you'd sink too.

All objects of mass have their own gravity. Earth's gravitational field is diminished the farther above the surface you are. A Clock (windup type, I know, I'm an old fart) at the top of the SEARS tower runs at a different rate than a clock at the lowest point in Death Valley.

Anybody know which is slower and which is faster?

A: SEARS Tower

B: Death Valley

Ow, my brain hurts. See what you did, P Mods? Now I have to go to school

 I wasnt trying to be a smart ass or any thing but i didnt know this thread would have so many things involved either :bash:

Death Valley is my answer. Since u explained it ur self ;-)
Less gravitational pull from the very top of the Sears Tower.

BTW....i love that City & thats a true City but would never live in Chicago :p
