My new Pype Bombs showed up today when I got home from work. I just got them installed and took a quick drive. The install was easy, but I had the same trouble as I have read that others had. The driver side axleback seems to be short and it was difficult to get the clamp to tighten it. The trick I found was to tighten the hangers and then push the inlet pipe and the head pipe (pipe from the front) together and make sure that the alignment pin that sticks out of the head pipe goes into the inlet pipe past the edge. The inlet pipe on the muffler has an odd cut that zig-zags. You want to make sure that the pin aligns with that. That way when you tighten the clamp the inlet pipe forms around the pin and locks it. I did not do it that way when I first put it on and it basically fell right out after I tightened the clamp and started the car. Make sure you use a breaker bar or impact and go as hard as you can to tighten the clamps. I used both and went until it would not go anymore. The tips are close to being perfectly lined up and everything is tight even after a spirited ride. My first impression when I started it was that it sounded great. Definately has a nice low rumble for an idle now. It sounds pretty mean. Driving around the neighborhood and shifting at low RPM's, it is really not that loud at all. I expected it to be like the Magnapacs I had on my 04 GT with a lot of droan. Not the case. It is just loud enough that you know something is there. At around 2000 RPM there is a little droan, but nothing like I am used to from other cars. It also does burrble and pop a little when decelerating. The magic comes when you get above 3000 RPM. Then it gets very loud and sounds like a true musclecar. I have not really hammered on it yet (need to take it to the thruway), but I can tell it will sound great. The tips also look fantastic compared to stock. And also with the windows up and cruising you can barely hear it. Good for roadtrips. Sorry no pics or video. Over all I think for the money it is a great exhaust and so far am happy with the purchase. I will add to this when I get it out on the thruway (hopefully later tonight):burnout:
