I've always thought the tranny sucked but tried to ignore it the best I can. I put my cats back on recently now I can hear it's like a super charger under acceleration. This car has been so frustrating. I've been going back to stock so hopefully the dealer shouldn't give me crap about warranty stuff.

has anyone had luck getting a tranny replaced from mostly whining and a crappy 2-3 shift at anything over 4K?

xl-18? Snake oil?

Nothing will fix whine. A tolerance has opened up. I had mine rebuilt by Ford when noise like this started at 6500 miles. Took a moth of hard negotiating but, they did the right thing and fixed it under warranty at the time, which was in 2012 on a 2012 car. It was fine after that. It shifted fine but, the input shaft bearing that I believe went bad first and caused the noise took out A LOT of things inside the box. 5th gear cluster, tailshaft housing, all the other bearings, etc.
