Proper engine bracing?

I plan on removing my K member to swap out for a tubular one and at the same time install Kooks long tube headers. Unfortunatly i dont have access to an engine hoist or any type of engine brace to hold it from the top. Is it safe to brace the engine from below with wood? Also where should i place the bracing so i does'nt damage the oil pan etc? :??: Thanks!

if you cant afford that (then you should sell the headers) you could fabricate something similar with some eye bolts, chain, and a length of 4x4.

if you supported the engine with cribbing you wouldnt have any room to work on the k-member install.

Thanks! Thats not too bad of price when it involves safety. Id feel much better lying under the car having that hold the motor than some wood blocks!
