I'm looking for acceptable tolerance in thinning of the extrados on process piping. I've read ASME B31.3, section 332 and it doesn't seem clear.

I need to bend a 3" XXS pipe to an 8" CLR. The extrados thins from .636" to .520" during calculations. What percentage is acceptable?

Also, is there anything in API 12K that give a specification?

That seems like a rather tight radius. What is the commodity being carried In the pipe? Are there other options? Is there a concern with the restriction of a long radius elbow or 45's and a pup pipe?

Not an engineer, just a plumber that runs a shift of 20+ pressure welders and fitters. And have been a lead pipefitter on a wide range of processing and compression plants
