Hey guys. I am looking at a torch red 2003 cobra coupe with no mods. It was rearended in 2009 on carfax. He says it was professionally repaired. It currently has 50k miles. What should I offer? What's a good price? He is asking $16,500.

Thanks
Carl

16500 seems a tad high for a termi that's bone stock with 50k miles; I could see that price if there were at least a few mods and it had never been wrecked, but a bone stock car that has been in an accident and has 50k miles would be a 15000 offer for me on the high side, I could even see an offer around 13500 being reasonable

Private party value is $21,600. Also a bone stock car is a plus. Hate to say it but unless a whipple is on the car that really doesn't increase the value.

OP, $16.5 is more than reasonable. I've got 80k miles and probably wouldn't take less than $18k for my car.

The $21,600 is KBB and these things tend to sell on the high side

How many miles were on it when it was wrecked? because it could have had 48,000 miles on it 3 years ago and he's only put 2,000 on it since the accident because it just doesnt drive like it should.

OR it had 20,000 miles on it, and once repaired he's put 30,000 on it because the thing drives true as could be.

Honestly, i dont see 13,500 getting it (if its been rebuilt and looks good) i think 15-16 is pretty reasonable, even for a cobra thats been wrecked in the past. Because that car would sell for ~18,000 if it werent wrecked... take a couple thousand off for the history...

Just my opinion, doesnt mean much ;)

Isn't there a place on the carfax report that tells you how much to take of KBB? It's been awhile since I looked at one
