Very simple. First coat with the color Silver Vein, Then instead of using a clear powder, use a translucent Candy blue! Here is a pic of some stuff I did just in silver vein,

I have a question on powder coating.

IF you power coat any type of metal, do you have to sand the metal real fine like you would if your painting it?

Because paint will show any imperfections, does power coating do that?

I really want to do this with my car. My intake hat looks like crap.

You said you did this yourself? Any idea what it would cost to have a powdercoat shop do it?

Not a all. I blast my part. powdercoating is much thicker than paint and hides minor imperfections.

so does the silver vein cure like that?

who makes it?

To be honest....Who doesnt have it!? Caswell, columbiacoatings, eastwood. They all have veins. Silver, gold copper...

awesome, we use eastwood stuff, i just don't recall seeing the vein finish

Wow, these pics sure generated interest! LOL. FYI yes I do powdercoating but being located in Canada it is not cost effective for you guys to send your parts to me. To be honest any powdercoating shop can do this, it is seriously easy when you have the equipment.

looks great! i have a question, is it possible to powdercoat things that aren't metal?? such as the plastic valve covers on a SOHC GT?

No it is not. The part has to take 375 degrees for 20 min.
