For the average person it is a PITA. The 2012 seat brackets are 4.5" wider than the 2002 mounting studs so I took the long way around by sectioning out 4.5" from the mounting brackets to fit the 2002 mounting studs. My method is not a bolt-in deal so it's not for the faint of heart but it does feel and fit good.
I read that someone makes a bracket that is supposed to make the install a bolt-in deal but I'm not paying $250 for it..
The way I mounted the seats, yes, they are lower than the stock seats but a little bit taller than the race buckets that I'm taking out but not much (see drivers seat still in the car).
