Poping noise on my 03 Cobra coupe

In the last few days my 03 Cobra coupe has been making a poping noise. It occurs when I accelerate from a stop. The pop is heard right after the car starts moving, like I'm running over something. At times the pop is immediate - hit it and it goes POP. The sound appears to come from outside. Not sure if its the clutch or the IRS. The sound is louder when the car is cold. So far I have not heard any noises while turning in uneven surfaces - my 99 had that problem. Anybody else have this issue or know what it could be?

I had a pop when moving over uneven surfaces, turned out it was the decklid seals and standoffs not being proprly lubricated. I fixed it with some silicone lubricant.
