Hi guys, we are currently working on a 2012 GT500. In reverse we with the wheel turned all the way to lock (either way) there is a very loud and jarring pop that is coming from the front suspension, feels like something is bound up. We have checked the alignment and it is spot on, all bushings look good, front suspension feels tight, we are not seeing anything obvious. Vehicle is stock also. Is there anything that is common on these cars to cause this issue?

Just a guess.

Full lock position,,what is touching to stop it.

Try small amount of lube on this contact.

That slight movement when touching.

Behind the wheel
I bet it’s the tires looking for grip in an odd angle/position, sorta speak.
Mine sometimes jumps or hops so slightly when I’m maneuvering in and around tight spots as I’m going in & out my garage slowly.
Only when I have to go full turn left or right.
That’s with OE performance-pack 19-inch wheel on 265/40R19 tires too.

I’ve seen some slight rubbing on one side of the sway-bar but can’t remember which side… indicating slight tire rub on mine.

Well it has been sort of figured out, my alignment guy said that it was within spec but not optimal, so he aligned it and its about 90% better, still odd that when turning the wheel to lock how badly the car toes out, that is a geometry issue that we really can't solve unfortunately

The last time I dealt with something like this it had nothing to do with the alignment.

My issue started when backing up and hitting the breaks and progressed to every time I hit a bump.

Long story short my K member bolts were loose, all 8 of them.

I would put a torque wrench on everything and check all the hardware. Not box end an actual torque wrench.

Generally when you have popping like that there is signs of movement. Take a long time looking things over between checking the torque on your hardware.
